Early 2011 : Hicham Lahlou to design a car in Japan!
Hicham Lahlou has been chosen to design an electric car in Japan! He thus joins the very limited world club of the rare designers and industrial designers (agencies) such as Pininfarina, Bertone etc...who design cars !
Next appointment early-mid 2011 for more information and when the manufacturer will be unveiled.
The project will be announced from Japan!
- Salon Maison & Objets a Paris : Hicham Lahlou’s creations will be on display at : Scènes d'intérieur, and at NOW DESIGN.

The "Aquamar" bath, designed by the Moroccan designer Hicham Lahlou has just been chosen as one of the 1000 cult design objects of 2010 in the world by the American magazine of reference "AD" (Architectural Digest) in a collector’s issue. The "Aquamar" bath was created for the Belgian luxury brand "Aquamass" which works with the major names in design such as Matali Crasset. Aquamar has met with great success with the press all over the world and has been presented at the most important rendezvous and shows for design.
Cutlery : A luxury French brand chooses a Moroccan designer
The French luxury brand "La Forge de Laguiole" has selected Hicham Lahlou to design folding and table knives. "La Forge de Laguiole", which was launched 23 years ago by Philippe Starck with the XXL knife, works with the most important names in design and fashion such as Courrèges, Ora Ito, Wilmotte, Matali Crasset... Hicham Lahlou now joins these prestigious names.
Watches : "LALLA" for women and “L2" for men, designed by Hicham Lahlou for the legendary watch-making brand LIP. These watches were recently launched at NOW DESIGN, at the Première Classe Salon in Paris, and in Basle at the World Show of Watchmakers.
LIP is on display and sold at COLETTE in Paris.
- Morocco: Design now has a Federation of its own.
The Moroccan Federation of Design and Industrial Design (FEMADE) has been officially created to give Morocco a new key factor of development and performance on a now global market. Started in June 2009 by Hicham Lahlou, who is its Founding Chairman, and by professionals from industry, marketing web design and product design, FEMADE is currently based c/o CGEM (General Confederation of Moroccan Companies).
- Athletics : Hicham Lahlou supports the 2011 Rabat International Semi Marathon. He has designed the official trophy.
- Cinema : Hicham Lahlou supports national cinema in 2011. He has designed the official trophy of the Tangiers National Film Festival.
- African Design : Hicham Lahlou to represent Morocco.
Hicham Lahlou has been selected to represent Morocco at the first African Salon of Design in Cotonou, Benin in April 2011 where he gave a talk and several interviews on his vision of design in the world, in Africa and in Morocco.
- Tan-Tan : Hicham Lahlou awarded a major contract
Libra Capital Ltd has just signed a partnership contract with Moroccan designer Hicham LAHLOU for three club houses in their entirety (Architecture, Interior Design and Decoration down to the forks…) for eight golf courses which will be designed by the legendary Gary Player for the ‘‘Morocco Riviera’’ project in Tan-Tan. Perfectly integrated in its environment and respectful of the surrounding eco-system, the ‘‘Morocco Riviera’’ project will be a lever for the development of the economy and tourism in this region.
- Qatar : A Moroccan designer on the ‘‘Stars of Science’’ jury.
The Moroccan designer Hicham Lahlou has been selected as VIP jury member for the prestigious pan-Arabic televised contest ‘‘Stars of Science’’, launched by the Qatar Foundation. The chairman of the jury is Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al-Thani, Vice President for Education of the Qatar Foundation.

- Urban design : The "Casablanca" bus shelters designed by Hicham Lahlou are being installed throughout Greater Casablanca...which becomes the third city to bear the mark of the designer, after Agadir and recently Rabat with the "Authentique" bus shelters.

Hicham Lahlou is overbooked. He has just been selected as a member of the jury for an international design competition launched by French upmarket brand Roche Bobois. This international competition is for young students of design in Morocco and the Diaspora.
